'Monty'

Started playing in 1980 with a band called Raulwolf. Band split when guitarist Johnny Green took exile in America to dodge multiple traffic offence fines! Joined Alverna Gunn for a short spell before they morphed into the Bash Street Kids with Richard Taylor. In 1983 joined Runestaff and signed record deal with F.M. Revolver Records. Completed one album (on vinyl) and then split, after death of keyboard player and ‘artistic differences!’
Disillusioned with music biz, bought a house and settled down. Seven years later met Paul (Scoggy) who asked me to audition for his band (Diversion). Got the job on personality cause I’d forgotten how to play and had no gear! Spent a year getting back into playing. Band split but I felt I still needed to play.
Wife took motor-cycle tuition and introduced me to Pete Stopforth, who was her instructor. Joined Pete’s band Pump, recorded CD in London, spent two loud years, damaged my ears, gave up music again. Thought that was the end of it!
Until once again Scoggy phones me up and asks me to audition for The Emma Hall Band. I said ‘no’, but he got Emma to phone and being weak like most blokes she sweet-talked me in to giving it a go. Which ended up in five years of very intense, up and down, but enjoyable music making. In July 2005 it all came to an end and I thought it was over for sure. Enter again Mr Scoggins to ask if I was interested in joining The Frank Morrow Band. Have to say its nice to work on some original material, I am looking forward to doing it live!

Still pulling faces after all these years - Monty
